Selma Amrane, M.D., is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology and reproductive endocrinology and infertility. She specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of infertility, including gynecologic endocrine issues, such as polycystic ovary syndrome, as well as male factor infertility and infertility resulting from endometriosis. She has authored several peer-reviewed publications in topics such as preimplantation genetic testing and in vitro fertilization.
Dr. Amrane earned her medical degree from University of Maryland, School of Medicine. After finishing her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Weill Cornell Medical Center in New York City, she completed a 3-year fellowship in reproductive endocrinology and infertility at Columbia University Medical Center.
Dr. Amrane has received several honors, including the Lewis Harriman Douglass Award for Excellence in Obstetrics and Gynecology and the Diversity Scholarship while in medical school. In residency, she was recognized with the Distinguished House Staff Award and with medical student teaching awards.
Dr. Amrane has been an advocate for patient access to fertility treatment and has participated in lobbying on Capitol Hill with organizations such as RESOLVE, the National Infertility Association. She is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) and the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG). She has also presented her research on multiple gestation and in vitro fertilization at several national meetings.
A Maryland native, Dr. Amrane is excited and honored to care for patients from her home state to achieve the goal of growing their families. She is fluent in French and Spanish. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, dancing, and spending time with family.
