Biography

Nicole M. Marchetto, M.D., M.P.H., is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology (OB/GYN) and board eligible in reproductive endocrinology and infertility (REI). Dr. Marchetto earned her medical degree from Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. During this time, she also earned her Master of Public Health. From there, she completed her residency training in OB/GYN at Mount Sinai St. Luke’s – Mount Sinai West in New York, New York. Dr. Marchetto then continued her training at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School to complete her fellowship in REI. 

Dr. Marchetto has been recognized for her excellence in women’s health education. As an accomplished researcher, Dr. Marchetto has contributed to numerous publications and presentations exploring topics such as preimplantation genetic testing, racial and ethnic disparities in fertility care, and polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS).  

Dr. Marchetto sees patients at SGF’s Lancaster, PA, and Newark, DE, locations. Always up for an adventure, Dr. Marchetto enjoys traveling to new places, taking her Bernedoodle for a long hike, and working on large-scale landscape paintings.

Q&A

I knew I wanted to be a doctor from a really young age. My dad is a physician, and I grew up seeing how much of an impact he had on improving other people’s lives. I absolutely love connecting with people and I am constantly fascinated by science. I knew that being a physician would provide me with so many opportunities to connect with people while constantly learning.    

REI is a unique field within women’s health and OB/GYN. As a physician, I have this amazing chance to help individuals build a family! The field is really on the leading edge of technology and discovery. I know that it will constantly challenge me and offer new learning opportunities for improving the reproductive health of our communities.

I appreciate how SGF values the team model in that everyone plays an important role in the patient experience. It’s so important to me that our patients feel how much we care about them. The SGF care team provides superior patient-centered care. In addition, SGF has leveraged our high-volume experience to advance the field of research. I have so much respect for science and research and feel that working with SGF is the perfect fit for me.

I find it so important to take the time to listen to my patients and help them identify their concerns. I always empathize with them. I want them to know that I’m working with them as their partner in all the difficulties they go through on this journey.   

I would say I’m a life enthusiast. I am upbeat, passionate, and genuinely curious about all aspects of life. I am always looking forward to my next experience and adventure. 

I’m an artist! I love large-scale landscape painting (oil is my favorite medium), and I also enjoy photography. My husband and I carved out space in our new home as my studio. I loved being able to paint our invitations for our wedding, it made the event so personal. Art has always been an important outlet throughout all of my schooling and training. I’m happy that I’ve been able to save time for it.

I love traveling to new places, taking our Bernedoodle, Hudson, for long hikes in the fall, and making my own pizza at home.
